I was on a shoot in San Francisco in which the Bay Bridge would be closed down for a short period of time. I asked Josh Kalis if he wanted to shoot a photo pushing across the top deck completely empty, and he was down.

The shoot was Ken Block's Gymkhana 5 video, and we had three, four minute opportunities to shoot. The production company (and the police) weren't too keen on the idea of Josh skating, but I knew we could pull it off.

We shot this photo the second time on the bridge. It was chaos - everyone went one way filming Ken, and Josh and I went the opposite direction. I never thought after years of living in San Francisco that I'd one day shoot a photo of someone skating across it completely empty.
